A decadent compound butter with green onions and Swiss cheese melted together to make an amazing gooey cheese bread.

Gooey Swiss Cheese Bread

 ½ cup green onions, finely sliced.
 ½ cup unsalted butter (room temperature).
 1 tbsp mustard powder.
 1 tbsp poppy seeds.
 ¼ tsp kosher salt.
 10 slices of Swiss cheese.(processed is best)
 1 large loaf of French bread.

Preheat oven to 375F.

In a small bowl, mix together the finely sliced green onions with the butter, mustard powder, poppy seeds and salt. Set aside.

Cut the cheese slices in half diagonally into form triangles. Set aside.

Cut the bread into 1" slices, being careful not to cut all the way through the bread (keep the bottom of the bread intact).

Liberally and evenly spread the butter mixture between each slice (on both sides), then place a piece of the Swiss cheese between each layer.

Wrap the bread tightly in foil, then bake for 25 minutes until the cheese has melted. Allow to cool slightly, unwrap the bread and serve.
